And then something happened..

Well i said just a few minutes ago something might happen.. well it turns out it did. i'm interviewing the conservative MP Kevin Foster and monday at Mercia - Uni coursework... BRING IT!

Mixed Emotions

Just about to start a Tech hop shift at Mercia, and I had an hour to kill so I started watching the film 21.

Great film, love it to bits. But this one part really sums up a situation i'm in at the moment.

I'm going to be moving back to Coventry over the next few weeks as commuting is killing me and i just don't get any fun anymore. Or any time to do anything, such as this!! So theres 2 choices... Student Accom, which i've seen a place. Its cheap, got private parking, good facilities, on a main road (i like seeing people going by) and the room is on the back (so its quiet and over looks the car park). But i don't know what the poeple are going to be like, and the rent goes through till July, so i could look for somewhere just for me, and just move infor 6 months which would cost about the same. But its a lot of agro, setting up bills and moving stuff, but i'll have a proper pad, and a lot more space.

But moving back into student accom, there the chance i get back the whole student life which i've missed, and its near Mercia, which'll be grand!

The money aspect of this all, well i'm trying to aim for so much in life, and although i look back over the last year and think christ i've come far, i don't feel like i've progressed over the last few months. Whcih has annoyed me a little. Plus i do a lot of work for not much return. Don't get me wrong, i enjoy a challenge and i don't want to be minted, but i haven't seen much return, in fun, montry or achievement, for how much i've put in over the last 3 weeks.

But i feel a lot better this week, than i did last week, so i guess things could be worse.

Anyway, time to get on with this shift, speak to you all later

Thanks for reading too x x x

Today

Today has been an interesting day. I've been to work at Mercia, been to uni, looked at some accomodation in Coventry, been to the pub and then been in an Audi R*. And this is all honest truth, someone at the pub who i know is very rich (obviously) and having not seen him since i stopped worjing there about 2 months ago, he's changed cars. Saying that he used to change cars every 2 weeks.

So his current cars include a Jag XF, a Merc C63 AMG, and Bentley Continental and now the R8.

As days go, its been alright!!

Speak soon.

PS apologies for not writing much recentyly, i've been stupidly busy and very down...

Scrappage Scheme

Just been reading an article in Autocar that has really struck a cord with me and i thought i'd come reflect...

The goverments scrappage scheme is a great idea, taking some of the most miserable cars out of their pitiful existance. But then they also take some of the best cars of the last 10 years and reduce them to nothing but coke cans. And this makes me very sad. I just saw an Astra, same as mine in, it has to be said, much better nick going to the crusha. What on earth is coming of this planet? Its a perfectly usable car, and as Autocar said, a valet would have sorted it.

A shinny blue Civic as well, nothing wrong with it apart from the huge RSJ now heavilt planted in its roof thanks to the low loader that picked it up.

Surely there has to be some way of saving some of these? A really personal car to me, the Ford Escort, one with 20,000 miles on the clock, top of the range spec, completely tidy got flattened.

And who ever traded in a Fiat Brava with 1400 and yes one thousand 400 miles on the clock from new must be more mental than me. Its barely run in and now its being crushed? Sad... Very sad.

Such a waste and such a shame. I'm off to get a Calibra before some barmy man with a crane reduces it to a cube.

Source Radio, house party and all that crazy jazz...

Hi again,

Beena couple of days i know but i couldn't get to a computer last night to write anything as i was drunk.

So what's happened in the last 48hours? Well, Had first lecture of 2nd year, which was talking about this, blogging, and a new site was introduced to us all. As i'm used to this, I found this other site aa bit alien and complicated. I liked how it was intergrated to a cov journo uni site thing, but still i can't help feeling that its all a bit of a honeymoon period with us all starting year two and this site will end up like pebblepad, a complete nightmare. That and i like blogger better!!

Then after that was the first Source Radio meeting. It could have been a complete disaster, as half an hour before we we're due to have all 60 new members come down, an engineering group rocked up saying they'd booked the room and had 100 people turning up. So some quick thinking, and a little bit of negioating saw them in a lovely new board room, and all of us in a usual place.

The meeting went really well, everyone really listened to me, and i actually felt a little respected, and maybe even a little loved which was nice. And they laughed at my jokes so that was awesome. I get the feeling Source might just actually work out you know.

Then there was a social event at spoons, which turned into a house party at Narmi's house and me making a complete tit of myself. O and theres a guy this year which looks exactly like Dan from last year. Well safe lad that one.

The night ended with me dropping dead to the world with everyone still there, me playing a cello before that and general bad taste jokes. This morning i felt less clever...

But on the train on the way home, i got an invite to another Mercia socail. O speaking of, i really need to pull my socks up there, get some demo's made up and find out what Tom was on about with me doing something on the show.

Feel a bit like i'm becoming a jack of all trades but very much a master of none. But then i feel like a need a rest to re-coup after a mental last week.

What else happened?? o i got the list of articles for the Student Bodiez mag as well, 2 car and one footy art :S - did get me thinking when i'm back up BRMB tho...

Anyway, enough rambling.

i'll speak to you all soon. Well when i say all... the very few that do read this!

PS 2 things i forgot. Grandads new golf is Lush!! and Jon Dudley annoys me..... more on him tomorrow!

First day

Well today we got back to uni. Found out our timetables which are, how to say it, easy! which gives me plenty of free time to get back to Mercia... And i've found out that Tom is trying to work me into the show somehow... But thats still all very maybe and what if so i'm not hoping for anything.

Should be moved up to BRMB soon, and hopefully spend this friday applying for more work experience at Car mags.

also went to look at a ST Mondeo - very lush - just waiting for the insurance to drop a little now, then i'm off to get one!!

Anyway, fairly calm day, but its intro time at Source Radio tomorrow

And to think 2 days ago i was having 'those' thoughts again.

Lifes good sometimes you know

Love x x

It's been a long time

Righty, October 2009 and this time i will keep on top of this!

Starting back to uni tomorrow, but going back Mercia first. Tom has said theres might be something for me, and i can't stop thinking what. I'm hoping something on air if i'm honest, but i doubt it.

Quick update since i last wrote on here,

Station Manager of Source Radio
Work Expereince at Mercia,
Tech Hop at Mercia
Tech Hop at BRMB
Motoring Editor for Student Bodiez

If only one of them paid!! Well, tech hoppin does, but its a tiny fraction of all the work i do for the others!

Anyway, more on what happens tomorrow, tomorrow!

Thanks for reading

Love x
